The department of Charente in the south west of France is renowned for having one of the most pleasant climates in France after the Mediterranean coast. Winters are really mild with an average temperature of 10°C in January and hot summers averaging 25°C and thanks to the weather from the West summers are hot but not muggy!

This region of France is a verdant one, receiving enough rainfall with long hours of sunshine to produce fields full of sunflowers as well as the grapes that provide the famous Cognac wines and liquors.

Mild winters, warm summers, the area is like England but with better weather.
